Meet The Guys

When they aren’t in the courtroom fighting for justice, these 5 trial lawyers bring the heat and passionately debate and inform all things sports on The Sunday Morning Quarterbacks podcast! The diversity they bring from all over the country can be seen as they argue and defend their own teams as well as bust the chops of their fellow podcasters hopelessly defending their own.
The moderator and the engine that makes the SMQBs go is Chris “Bison” Nace hailing from Washington, DC. A former star college baseball player at Georgetown University, this Hoya brings a unique perspective to his craft.

Bison is the Nation’s Capital’s biggest homer as he tries to convince the SMQBs that the football universe goes through D.C. and that the Nats and Wizards are just one player away from being a contender!
Speaking of homer, there is no bigger advocate for all things Philly than the juice that makes the SMQBs flow, Tobi “House” Millrood. The Eagles latest Super Bowl success has made this Eagle season ticket holder fly higher than ever as he burnishes his Lombardis as a bludgeon on the Pod. But, in addition to his other home teams, House is the SMQBs Master of all things English Premier League soccer and Formula 1!
The heart and soul of the SMQBs is Michael “Rooster” Phelan from Richmond, VA, who grew up in Connecticut and is our resident New York sports fanatic. While he’s beating the SMQBs down with “All Rise” as Aaron Judge hits another Bronx Bomb for his beloved Yankees….he still holds out hope that the New York Football Giants can somehow turn their ship around. Mel Kiper move over because Rooster is the SMQBs resident NFL Draft guru and don’t get him started on his beloved Fighting Irish!
The Mystery Man who has many talents and is always good for a sharp barb or three is none other than our own Patrick “Milk” Mickler from Tampa Bay. He is still clinging to the Lombardi that the Goat Tom Brady brought him during his final lap. Milk’s jam is all things college football as long as the SEC is the only conference discussed. This former Gator loves him some Saturday football…..and now claims the same about college basketball! However, when it comes to conversations about the NBA, Milk does his best AJ Hawk impersonation.
You can’t have a sports podcast without the resident Bandwagon personality….. and that is none other than Bryan Pope from Dallas….the man who needs no nickname! Pope has so many teams that he claims as his own that there aren’t enough hours in a day for a Pod! He still holds out hope that the Cowboys will grab another Lombardi in his lifetime and won’t shut up about the injustice of the Luka trade! Whether it’s the Crimson Tide in basketball or the Tarheels in football (or is it the other way around?), Pope will fiercely defend his team….until he finds another one more successful. Pony Up? And don’t get him started on The Masters or any other Major golf tournament!
What sets these homers apart from other sports pods is that they actually focus on interesting stories and issues. After the frightening Tua concussion where his hands seemed stuck in a claw-like position, the SMQBS interviewed a world-renowned brain injury expert. Listen to episode 100 to learn more about this fascinating subject. One of our recurring guests, Jerry Bembry, Senior Sportswriter and Documentary Producer from The Walt Disney Co.'s Andscape, appears on the pod to discuss important cultural issues, including the dearth of black head coaches, GMs and owners in the NFL. We recently promoted Jerry's latest documentary, "Eight on Eight," a look at the behind-the-scenes benevolence of Kobe Bryant. If you are looking for a deeper understanding of the NHL, don't miss our guest appearances by Moosejaw from Toronto. Moose knows everything "aboot" hockey and hopes that this is finally the Leafs' year.
If you are looking for engaging sports/culture conversation-something beyond the traditional screaming and nonsense on other sports shows-tune in to SMQBS.
